Sean
Ortiz has been working for the Internal Revenue Service for over 10 years. He
has served in many divisions within the IRS as well as held various titles
throughout his career. As a Federal, State, Local Government (FSLG) Specialist
in the Tax Exempt and Government Entities (TE/GE) function, specializing in
Federal, State, & Local Governments, he plans, coordinates and conducts
both independent Examinations of Federal or State Governmental or
Quasi-Governmental entities and Outreach activities. These are designed to
provide IRS educational services and promote voluntary compliance with Internal
Revenue Code requirements.
His examinations of outreach activities contain
unique, complex or special audit features or governmental accounting, tax law,
investigative or compliance problems where there is little or no previous
guidance. Sean has created educational resources and training material to improve
the consistency and quality of the interpretation of tax law to IRS employees
as well as stakeholders.
Sean has taught various tax law topics as well as such
as tax compliance and internal system operations.
